On Friday October 24, 2014 10WP was a sponsor for the Kettering Rotary Club's 7th Annual Halloween “Run For Your Life” 5k Run/Walk and 8k Run Challenge.
This year the event benefited the Kettering Backpack Program, Crayons to Classrooms, and other charitable projects of the Kettering Rotary Club.

Thirteen diners recently enjoyed a 5-Star meal prepared by 10WP's Certified Executive Chef Keith Davis, and raved about their dining experience. It's no wonder since 10 Wilmington Place is one of three retirement communities in the United States to receive the American Culinary Federation Achievement of Excellence Award. The magazine's author of the restaurant review article stated "If our dinner was a sample of what Chef Keith has to offer the residents, the award is well deserved".
On Friday, July 25th, residents and staff celebrated Christmas in JULY!
It was just an excuse to dig our holiday sweaters and decorations out of the closet more than once a year, and everyone loved it.
Another fun activity for 10 Wilmington Place Residents includes a trip to 5/3 Field for a Dayton Dragons baseball game this June.
A little rain did not dampen their spirits as they cheered players on to a 10-5 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts.
Prior to the game, Heater, the Dragons' mascot, visited 10 Wilmington Place to get resident fans pumped up for the game which offered many photo opportunities. At the game, our group was recognized on the giant screen to their delight.
On Tuesday, June 17th at 2:00pm, 10 Wilmington Place residents and staff had a “Flag Day” Ceremony on our front porch. The local VFW took down our old flag and presented us with a new one, and also did a gun salute. Everyone enjoyed the sounds of patriotic music performed by our own Rebeka Cloyd.
All eighth grade students at Oakwood Junior High School spent Thursday, May 22, enjoying service learning, community building, and outreach.
Residents enjoyed hearing the young musicians.
Our resident of 18 years, Vivian Fraley, celebrated her 100th birthday in May surrounded by fellow residents, family and staff.
