Our Memory Care Center is named in honor of the mother of our owner and founder Barry Humphries.

At 10 Wilmington Place, we know that each person’s journey with memory loss is unique. That’s why we call our philosophy “Celebrating the Individual — The Josephine Way.”
The Josephine Way embodies our approach to caring for the whole person and their family. We aim to see beyond the limitations of Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia, and recognize each resident for the unique individual they are. We focus on emotional needs and care preferences rather than a medical model, and we believe in creating an environment where each resident can find purpose, joy and a sense of belonging every day.
In our care plans, we’ve implemented cutting-edge technology LifeLoop, a software platform that enhances the lives of our residents by providing a wealth of content applications tailored to their interests and abilities. Similar to a tablet, LifeLoop gives residents access to thousands of activities that promote cognitive stimulation, physical engagement and emotional relaxation.
From listening to music and watching movies to virtually exploring new places around the world, residents at 10 Wilmington Place can enjoy a variety of enriching experiences with LifeLoop. Our holistic activities program integrates LifeLoop with traditional activities, guaranteeing that every resident enjoys a fulfilling and personalized daily life catered to their unique needs and preferences.

Our Memory Care Director, Chris Shelley, has more than 32 years of healthcare experience, from working as an STNA in a long-term care setting, to serving as both an Assisted Living and Memory Care Director within the senior living industry.
At 10 Wilmington Place, Chris uses his extensive background to implement new activity programming experiences. He is an enthusiastic teacher to the rest of the 10 Wilmington Place team, training and educating others on Alzheimer’s, dementia and programming. You can learn more about Chris here!
We are proud to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association of Dayton to host a monthly Dementia Caregiver Support Group on the third Thursday of the month from 5-6pm.
