Meet our Director of Activities, Transportation and Resident Services, Karen Haverland! 

Karen has been with 10 Wilmington Place for more than a decade, and we like to say that she has the best job here — fun! 

She leads a team with the sole purpose of ensuring our residents have daily opportunities to have a good time, learn something new, stay active and build a sense of community that’s so important to us at 10 Wilmington Place. 

A few of her favorite activities over the years include:

• The annual Clodbusters Vintage Base Ball game on our beautiful front lawn
• Our 10 Wilmington Place car show, full of amazing vehicles old and new 
• Quarterly socials that bring residents together to sing and dance along to tunes from the1950s and 60s from Bill Corfield

Karen comes from a creative background, having been a graphic designer in the agency world before managing design for a candy and gift business. When she’s not at 10 Wilmington Place, she loves being outdoors, traveling, hikes with her trusty dog Harrison, and time with friends and family. 

After 12 years on the team, Karen is still with 10 Wilmington Place because she enjoys planning and engaging residents in a wide array of activities. She loves to learn about residents’ interests to give them the best experience possible! Karen also manages our transportation department. It brings her great joy to make connections with residents and family members.
