If 10 Wilmington Place residents are looking for a card game, they know they can turn to Olga Greenberg. Watch out - she knows her cards!
Olga has been in Independent Living at 10 Wilmington Place for about five years after moving to the Dayton area from New York City to be close to her daughter, Leah, one of her three children.
After growing up in Brooklyn, Olga spent time in a variety of neighborhoods, including attending high school and college in Queens and living on Long Island. Often referred to by her nickname Cookie — a moniker that has stuck with her throughout her younger years and into adulthood.

In her 20s, Olga sang with the choir of the infamous Brooklyn Tabernacle Church choir and loved both Math and English during her scholastic years. She wrote a story called "Life's Embrace" that was published in a magazine, something she's proud to speak of today. Later in life, she put her warm nature and love of children to great use in her career as a caseworker.
Olga's faith led to a moment of inspiration when she first toured 10 Wilmington Place as a perfectly placed beam of light came in through the window as she was touring an apartment. It spoke to her!
“It was the sunlight that drove me to live here,” she remembered fondly.
Now, she’s grown to love her new senior living community in Dayton, and especially her friends at 10 Wilmington Place.
“It’s like a family,” she said.
You can often catch Olga taking advantage of one of the many activities hosted at 10 Wilmington Place, or making some fun of her own. She participated in the Halloween costume contest, enjoys spending time in the in-house movie theater, catching Denzel Washington Movies and her favorites like Bonanza. Olga is always up for a game of cards or dominos. Between her exercise bike and workout equipment housed in her apartment, she enjoys staying active and vibrant.
“I like to work out and I like to dance,” she said. “Whenever possible, I dance.”
Olga enjoys getting out into the Dayton community, taking advantage of the transportation services 10 Wilmington Place offers to schedule appointments, shop at local stores and grab a book from a nearby bookstore.
And of course, Olga loves to eat great food. She enjoys visiting nearby restaurants with her 10 Wilmington Place friends, and also takes full advantage of the in-house award-winning certified Executive Chef and culinary team. Olga loves pasta, but gets most excited when fried mushrooms are on the menu.
“They are SO good.”
